BLAIR HAMMOND

Canadian saxophonist/transcriber living in Southampton, UK. Available for jazz, RNB, function band work and transcribing services

Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Blair discovered music very early in life through piano lessons at the age of 5. He switched to saxophone at age 10 to be part of concert band, and very soon found a passion in playing jazz music.  He later attended Capilano University (North Vancouver, Canada) for jazz studies before joining cruise ships in 2011, where he performed woodwinds while backing a large variety of performers on several ships around the world.  Moved to Southampton, UK permanently in 2020 and has found a welcome community of musicians. Regularly performs with Tuto Tribe (samba rock), Neoroots Function Band, Tash Hills (neosoul/rnb), and the Southsea Jazz Collective (jazz).
